Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. They was moved to Oxfordshire when she was five where she attended an academy called the Dragon School. Emma chose to be an actor when she was six. For several years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing dance, acting and singing. By the time she turned 10 years old, Emma took part in many Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie version to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for the first time in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these characters. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first screen appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. The film was also one of the top-rated films in 2001. Its opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. Critics gave high praise to the film, particularly those who were young. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's performance "amazing".
